OUR PICK: The BEST Buenos Aires City Tour for First Timers

Explore the dynamic spirit of the city with the Immersive Buenos Aires Day: Boca, San Telmo, Cemetery, & More tour and see as much as possible in (less than a full) day.

This is the tour I joined on my last trip to Buenos Aires, and I highly recommend it! We were part of the inauguration tour, which is why you’ll see plenty of our photos on the tour page 🙂

It blends history, culture, and local flavors as a very friendly local guide takes you around the city’s main neighborhoods.

You’ll first visit the historic Recoleta Cemetery, home to intricate sculptures and mausoleums. It’s also the resting place of many distinguished figures such as Evita Peron, whom you’ll find out about during the tour.  Our guide brought us straight to the most interesting corners of the cemetery which saved us so much time.

Then, pass by Puerto Madero, a waterfront area where you’ll get fantastic photo ops in front of its beautiful bridge, Puente de la Mujer. The next stop is La Boca, the city’s most colorful district that’s full of street art, artisan shops, and tango street performances.

You’ll learn about the culture and lifestyle of Buenos Aires’ citizens as you wander its vibrant streets. Here we also got a delicious choripan with our choice of a soda or beer.

This is followed by a trip to the historic San Telmo. There you’ll get to explore its famous market, and savor local flavors as you’re treated to some mouth-watering empanadas.

The tour then took us to the downtown area, with a stroll past the presidential Pink House, and other city landmarks such as the Cathedral and the Obelisk.

Why this tour? It’s capped at 10 participants, ensuring the experience is intimate and very personalized. I loved that we got to see all the main locations and landmarks of Buenos Aires, and learn about it in depth through the guide’s narration.

You’ll get to learn about the city’s past and present, see beautiful sights, and relish local cuisine all at once. It’s by far the most comprehensive Buenos Aires tour I found.

But it’s not just me saying it! Read what the reviews say:

“I loved this tour. I only had a day in Buenos Aires and this was a perfect way to see a bit of the city before leaving. It was extremely well coordinated and the guide was fantastic. Can’t beat the price for a 5 hour tour with transportation and lunch. Don’t hesitate – go ahead and book!”
