Glamping Hub Beachfront Tree House Rental – Zihuatanejo, Mexico
If you’ve followed this blog for a while, then you already know I’m head over heels for Mexico. It’s such a beautiful country, and I keep discovering new reasons for me to go back asap. For example, I need to try treehouse glamping at this beachfront tree house in Zihuatanejo in the state of Guerrero, called Playa Viva.
Imagine waking up with the view of waves crashing on the shore just metres away from your bed, and read a book on your hammock while perched six feet above the ground. It’s a very Tarzan-like dream, isn’t it? Yet, at the same time guests have all the comforts including a private bathroom, and a shared pool and wi-fi.
Glamping Hub is my go-to site when I look for glamping destinations because there are just so many cool ones, including treehouse rentals! My bucket lists keeps expanding…
We like it because: The resort is committed to sustainability and the restaurant specializes in farm-to-table cuisine, with healthy and organic dishes.
Rates start at $476.
Treehotel – Harads, Sweden
Not your typical tree house resort: the treerooms at Harads are environmentally friendly and styled with groundbreaking designs by some of the best Swedish architects.
My favourite treehouse is the Mirrorcube, where the mirrored walls reflect the surrounding forest and guests are pretty much invisible.
All the treehouse cabins feature combustion toilets and are powered by hydroelectric energy; the property also features a treesauna!
We like it because: Treehotel manages to perfectly mix nature, contemporary design and sustainability, and during the winter you can experience the Northern Lights like nowhere else.
Rates start at $500 per night.

This place is perfect for all of you who like the city, but want an oasis to relax in, and what better choice than a fully sustainable hotel located in “Bangkok green lung“?
We like it because: among all other green initiatives, the hotel offers free bike rentals to guests… or bring your bike and get a 15% discount!

A romantic spot popular among couples and newly-weds, TreeHouse Point offers five different treehouse cabins built in a sustainable way deep in the forest, where guests can reconnect with nature. Keep in mind that this treetop accommodation is pretty basic and the tree top cabins don’t have private bathrooms, but you won’t even notice when you’re surrounded by all that green.

Tongabezi Safari Lodge – Victoria Falls, Zambia
When visiting the majestic Victoria Falls, there’s a place you really shouldn’t miss if you can splurge: Tongabezi Lodge, located on the banks of the Zambesi River, screams romance and evokes exotic dreams.
This tree house escape is as luxurious as it gets: think canopy beds, bathtubs and West African artworks. It will be difficult for guests to set foot outside, even to participate in one of the many activities included in the price.
Tongabezi Lodge, in addition to featuring some of the best tree houses in the world, takes its social impact very seriously: it’s involved in a series of projects for the local communities, and to limit the impact on the environment too.
We like it because: taking a bath at sunset time on your treehouse, with a great view over the Zambesi river? Yes, please!
Rates start at $750 per person per night.
Kanopi House – Portland, Jamaica
Why choose between the forest and the blue Caribbean waters, when you can have both? Kanopi House is a cluster of treehouse cabins linked to each other in the midst of the rainforest. Look outside the window though, and you’ll see a blue lagoon ringed by a coral reef and manta rays swimming just metres away. This might easily be the best location ever for a treehouse getaway!
We like it because: Kanopi House describes itself as “eco-friendly, low impact, organic and green”, and doesn’t lie.
Rates start at $300 per room per night.
La Piantata – Arlena di Castro, Italy
Imagine to wake up on top of a treehouse towering a lavender field in full bloom, and to have breakfast on the terrace, absorbing the sounds, colours and fragrances of the surrounding nature.
This is La Piantata, an agritourism set among the hills near Tuscania, a charming village in the central Italian region of Lazio. There are only two treehouse cottages, both adorable and made with sustainable materials, so make sure to reserve well ahead.
We like it because: this tree house escape is one of those childhood’s dreams come true.
Rates start at $479 per night.
Huilo Huilo Nothofagus Hotel & Spa – Huilo Huile, Patagonia, Chile
Nothofagus Hotel is not a resort made of scattered luxury tree houses but a single wooden building inspired by “The Little Prince”: this treetops hotel is nonetheless so fascinating that I couldn’t exclude it from the list.
